Jeanie Kirk is a grant writer and project manager based in Portland, OR. Jeanie thrives while working to support the environment, education, human rights, and social justice. Prior roles for Jeanie include grants officer at Mt Tamalpais College (formerly the Prison University Project) and program management at The Nature Conservancy. Jeanie has an MA from Columbia University focused on climate change and sustainable development, and a BA in International Studies from the University of Richmond.
Jeanie is also a small business owner, using her knack for storytelling to grow a linen home goods company (MADRE Linen), showcasing linens that are grown, processed, woven, dyed, and sewn domestically. With a working knowledge of French and elementary Spanish skills, Jeanie has travelled extensively and lived in Europe, India, and Latin America. Originally from New England, Jeanie would be a 14th-generation Cape Codder should she choose to move back East.
